About us

We are Vegas Valley Mushrooms - a husband and wife team that created this specialty mushroom farm out of a desire to provide a diverse array of quality mushrooms to our beloved hometown of Las Vegas!

We are a local, veteran and woman-owned gourmet mushroom farm serving the Las Vegas Valley!

Our family operated urban farm provides freshly harvested, unique, specialty mushroom varieties to our restaurants and locals across the city!

Samantha

A native of Las Vegas, Samantha graduated from Legacy High School in 2009. She married her soul mate, Ryan, and they moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina that same year. 2014 led them to California where she discovered her love for skydiving, hiking, gardening and mushrooming! 2016 brought them back to Vegas to pursue their dream of providing their hometown with gourmet mushrooms.

While they saved their money and delved into the mushroom growing lifestyle here in Vegas, Samantha has continued to home school their three children; Autumn, 10; Odin, 9; and Luna, 6; while also constantly lending her mind and hands to the farm.

Ryan

Another Las Vegas native, Ryan also graduated from Legacy High School and enlisted in the US Army in early 2009. He served as an infantryman and paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and while stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina he served a combat deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Ultimately Ryan left active duty and he moved to California where he reenlisted in the California National Guard while also attending college.

Ryan attended and completed an Agriculture Incubator Program at CAL POLY POMONA where he developed his love for mushrooms into a viable business plan. An honorable discharge, a move back to Vegas in 2016 and several years of penny-pinching whilst learning to qualitatively grow fungi has enabled us to finally breathe life into Vegas Valley Mushrooms!

Autumn

Our oldest child, Autumn, is in fourth grade. She and her siblings are involved in mixed martial arts and her other loves include reading, gardening, weekly horse riding, and helping her dad work on the farm.

Odin

Our middle child and only son, Odin, is a typical hyperactive boy thoroughly consumed in his imaginative process of building dinosaur worlds and drawing. He also loves tormenting his sisters and philosophizing about morality while simultaneously attempting to skip out on doing the dinner dishes.

Luna

The most wild of our three children, Luna has a very entertaining personality and consistently says some of the most off-the-wall comments. Being the youngest hasn't hindered her from initiating nearly all the confrontations with her siblings either, but she is also the first to show compassion, empathy and come to the aid of those in need.
